The Art of the Portrait

This introductory course focuses on developing the necessary communication and technical skills to obtain the most out of models and people they are photographing. Students will gain practical experience through thematic studio and location sessions ranging from character to drama, movement, beauty, and sports as they further investigate their DSLR or SLR camera functions. Also explored are strategies in effective auditioning and hiring of talent. Prerequisites: Basic Photography (film or digital).Please note this course consists of 7 online lecture/critique sessions and 5 in person studio sessions at Langara.
