Diagnostic Tests To meet prerequisite requirements for some courses, you may be required to write a placement or diagnostic test. These tests are designed to assist in placing you in the appropriate course. Langara English Test The LET assesses students’ ability to read, understand, and write English at the college/university level. The LET scores indicate which first-year English/Communications course students should take, based on their skills and needs. Register Math Diagnostic Test (MDT) The MDT helps to identify the math course that is most appropriate in view of a student's background, current abilities, and future needs. Register Physics Diagnostic Test (PDT) The PDT is designed for students who have completed physics prerequisites outside of the British Columbia Secondary School System. The test assesses knowledge of physics principles and applications.
