Langara is a college that prioritizes sustainability, inclusion, and community engagement, with indigenization as the essential link connecting us all.

We are a public college located in Vancouver, British Columbia, on the unceded traditional territory of the Musqueam First Nation. We are honoured to carry the name snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓, meaning house of teachings, which was gifted to us by Musqueam. This name reflects our deep commitment to learning, community, and respectful relationships.

Today, Langara is one of BC's leading post-secondary institutions, providing programs and courses to more than 19,000 students annually.

Supporting your journey

Our goal is to remove barriers to education and help students reach their full potential. That means providing world-class learning and wraparound supports that make a real difference. Small class sizes, dedicated faculty, and flexible programs help students succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

At Langara, students find more than a program—they find a place where their goals are supported and their future can begin.

Real value, real impact

By supporting our students' success, Langara has a measurable positive impact on our community. A 2020 economic impact study conducted by EMSI shows that Langara's alumni, students, and operations together generated $966 million in added income to the region.

With lower tuition than many comparable schools, Langara’s programs offer a strong return on investment.

For every $1 spent:

-Diploma students gain $1.50 in lifetime earnings
-Taxpayers gain $3.10 in added tax revenues and public sector savings
-Society gains $8.70 in added provincial revenues and social savings

This economic impact reflects the strength of our programs, the dedication of our students and faculty, and the reputation Langara has built over time.

A commitment to community and sustainability

We’re proud of our connection to the Musqueam people and continue to learn from our relationship. We work to create an environment that respects Indigenous knowledge and culture and are committed to reconciliation across the college.

Langara also plays an active role in the wider community. Students contribute thousands of volunteer hours through initiatives like the VOLT program. The Langara College Foundation helps fund scholarships and bursaries, and our annual campaigns support local organizations and causes.

Sustainability is another core focus. We’ve reduced our carbon footprint significantly since 2010, and our campus includes LEED Gold-certified buildings, solar panels, EV charging stations, and water conservation features. We’re working toward a more sustainable future, both on campus and in our operations.
