Langara students have the opportunity to participate in a Cultural Internship Program at Soonchunhyang University in Asan, Korea. They will study Korean language, culture and history and have the chance to interact with local students in the cultural exchange program.

The Cultural Internship Program matches you with several pairs of Korean students (usually between 4-6 pairs per semester) and you will be required to have one hour of language/cultural exchange with each pair of students each week. The goal of the interaction is to provide students with the opportunity to learn about each others’ cultures and to have an opportunity for language exchange.

Participants will be housed in a newly built dormitory called the Global Village. In the Global Village, each international student will share a suite with 10 Korean students and one other international student. Each international student will share a room with one Korean student.

About Exchange

An exchange gives you the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at a university or college that has an exchange agreement with Langara College. As an exchange student, you will pay tuition to Langara College and transfer the credits you earn back to your Langara transcript. (Note: The granting of transfer credit will depend on which courses you take at Soonchunhyang. Any transfer credits granted by Langara may not be transferable to other Canadian institutions.)

You can stay for up to three semesters at Soonchunhyang. There are two semesters per year at Soonchunhyang: September through mid-December and March through mid-June. Students need to arrive in Korea for orientation and registration period just before the semester begins.
