Academic Requirements
Domestic Applicant: Completion of a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a recognized post-secondary institution
International Applicant: Completion of a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a recognized post-secondary institution
English Language Requirement
- Successful completion of English First Peoples 12, English Studies 12, or Literary Studies 12 (or equivalent)
- Successful completion of a post-secondary English or Communications course for which Langara College awards transfer credit
- A minimum “S” grade in Langara ENGL 1107 or 1110; Or a minimum “C” grade in ENGL 1120
- A minimum score of 3 on the Langara English Test (LET) Domestic students only
- International Baccalaureate (IB) ENGL A (HL or SL) 2; Or IB ENGL LIT & PERFORM (SL) 2
- Advanced Placement (AP) ENGL LIT & COMP 2; Or AP ENGL LANG & COMP 2
- A minimum “C” grade in GCSE O-Level English or GCSE English Language B
- Successful completion of LEAP Level 8 (or equivalent) (see note a)
- Language Proficiency Index (LPI) 24 (see note a)
- IELTS Academic Overall 6.5 with no bands less than 6.0 (see note a)
- Duolingo English Test 110 (see note b)
- TOEFL (IBT) Overall: 90, Writing: 21, Reading: 22, Listening: 22, Speaking: 21 (see note a)
- CAEL Overall 70, Essay: 70 (see note a)
If you have completed at least four years of full-time secondary or post-secondary study in English, you may have met the English Language requirements. For a list of approved countries, refer to English Language Countries.
Notes:
- Assessment test scores are valid for two years from the date they were taken.
- Duolingo test scores must be sent directly to Langara College (view submission instructions).
Application Process
Seats are limited and applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no fixed closing date for application, but there is limited capacity for each intake. Early application is strongly encouraged to guarantee a spot in the program. Application fee: $155-international, $40-domestic. Please review our admissions requirements before beginning your application.
1. Submit online through the Continuing Studies Online Application
2. Submit all relevant supporting documents regarding Post-Secondary Degree Completion and English language proficiency with the application through the Continuing Studies Online Application form. Supporting documents can also be submitted later in the Continuing Studies Applicant Portal. Access to the portal will be granted by email after your application is received.
Incomplete applications packages will not be reviewed until all supporting documents are received
Required Educational documents:
- Official college or university transcript (in colour, front & back of all pages)
- Scan of college or university credential (eg. Bachelor's degree)
- Copy of Canadian work permit or study permit (if applicable)
- Demonstration of English-language proficiency (Duolingo test scores must be sent directly to Langara College. See submission instructions.
Students who fail to provide official documents as requested may have their application canceled, and/or be blocked from further registration. All scanned documents must be PDF format, in colour, show the entire page, and include both sides (front and back, even if blank) of all pages.
3. Receive an Offer of Admission by email after your application is approved and all documents have been verified. Allow approximately 10 business days for processing of your application.
4. Pay commitment fees for the first semester as detailed in the Offer of Admission.
5. International students will receive a Letter of Acceptance by email. The Letter of Acceptance will be issued after the tuition fees for the first semester have been received. Domestic students will receive a confirmation email of their acceptance into the program.
7. International students - Apply for a Study Permit after receiving their Letter of Acceptance at the nearest Canadian embassy or visa office.
8. Report to Langara for your first day of class.
Note: Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis until all of the seats are filled. Submit your applications early to guarantee a seat in the program.
International Students
We welcome international students to the Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance Post Degree Diploma program at Langara College.
International applicants should apply with as much notice as possible in order for visas to be processed.

International Fees and Expenses
A non-transferable deposit of $7,501.00 CDN is the first term commitment fee which includes material fee (this is approximate, subject to change) is required before the Letter of Acceptance is issued. The deposit may be refunded only if the student's visa is denied by Immigration Canada and the student has applied with the allowed 45 day window. International students applying from overseas are advised to check with the Canadian Embassy in their country as to the processing time for a Study Permit.

- A $100 administration fee is charged when a new Letter of Acceptance is issued.
- Students whose visa application is denied by Immigration Canada will receive a full refund (minus bank charges) once they submit their current refusal letter from Immigration Canada provided the application was made during the 45 day window. Students may have the commitment fee of $1500 withheld if the application was not made in the time allowed.
- International students are required by law to have comprehensive health and accident insurance to provide coverage for treatment of illness or injury during your stay in BC. Visit the Langara Global website for more information.
