Summer English Language Program (SELP) is a three-week course of language and cultural study in Vancouver. The program gives students an opportunity to improve their English with the support of experienced ESL teachers and small classes. In addition, students will learn about Canadian culture and participate in exciting recreation activities resulting in enhanced communication skills and confidence in the English language.

Sample Schedule
Instructors or cultural assistants take students on a series of exciting outdoor adventures such as kayaking, an excursion to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, or a visit to the Vancouver Aquarium. Students also visit museums and Vancouver’s ethnically diverse neighbourhoods. This is a sample itinerary and the schedule and activities included are subject to change.

Application for Admission
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until early June and must be accompanied by a non-refundable deposit of $250. The balance of payment is due one month prior to the start of the program. Students must be 18 years of age or older to participate in our program.

Homestay
Homestay accommodation is optional but it is an important part of the language immersion program. Students stay with carefully selected English-speaking families. Homestay families are interested in sharing their time and culture so that students can practice their English and learn about West Coast living. Students will take part in daily family activities. Many of the language assignments will involve discussions with your host family.
