Why Langara
Flexible Participation (online)
We offer online study option, known as Flexible Participation, for individuals who are working, living outside the Lower Mainland, or simply can't get to campus. There are total of twenty courses in the curriculum and can be completed on part-time or full-time basis. Students in this option can take minimum of one course to maximum of five courses per term and are advised to prepare at least three years to graduate. Few online sections are offered in alternate years but those who live in Lower Mainland may take classroom sections with Department Chair's approval.
Non-Program Students
Each semester, we would like to offer members of the library community access to our courses on a space-available basis. If you are interested in taking single courses for personal or professional development, please obtain a Langara ID by applying as "General Education" student. For those who have previously enrolled at Langara, please continue to use your student number.
During registration period, you can search for our course offerings in the course schedule and email Department Chair to request for a registration waiver. Please include following information:
- Full name
- Langara ID
- Course information: number, online or classroom (e.g. LIBR 1111, online)
- Course CRN (5 digit unique number of the course section)
