International Equivalents

English is the language of instruction at Langara College. It is important for students to be proficient in the English language to reap the rewards of international education, be able to meaningfully contribute in the classroom, and benefit from their studies abroad.

Students who do not meet the English Language Requirements for admission to their program may enroll in Langara English for Academic Preparation (LEAP).

English Language-eligible Countries

If you have completed at least four years of full-time secondary or post-secondary study in English in the countries below, you will have met Langara’s Category 3 English Language admission requirement ​for Regular Studies programs. Language requirements for admission to Continuing Studies programs are listed on the program webpage.

English Assessments

Information for some of the English language proficiency assessments is outlined below.

International applicants must successfully graduate high school and normally meet the equivalent of a 60% academic grade standard in their final year of studies to be eligible for admission to most undergraduate programs*. 

*Please note some individual programs may have additional or higher requirements that must be met to be eligible for admission. Admission requirements are subject to change. Meeting the published minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
