Mastering

After the mixing process, when the structure of the song is complete, comes the mastering process. Students will learn how to apply process such as EQ, exciters and compression to the final song to ensure that it will sound superb on any type of play back system from CD to DVD and MP3. Students will also learn how to use effects devices to add warmth and natural noise to a song in order to avoid the unrealistically clean sound of digital. Once again, students will spend time in one of Vancouvers larger commercial facilities.Learning Outcomes:- Apply EQ to the final mix of a song- Apply Compression to a final mix of a song- Apply Maximizers to a final of a song- Produce variations of characters on a single mix
