Career Development Professional
Required Courses
The full-time intensive program focuses on employment services, offering a series of courses that meet the national standards for Career Development Practitioners. Graduates are prepared for a range of careers including employment counsellor, career development practitioner, vocational consultant, job developer, career development caseworker, and career coach. Students will also have an opportunity to complete workplace practicum to put the theory into practice. If you are aiming to finish the full certificate but can only take few courses at a time, please speak with the coordinator to arrange a course plan.
The certificate program consists of nine courses and one workplace placement. Courses may be taken individually or as part of the Certificate program. In order to receive the certificate, students must successfully complete all required courses and practicum placement. There will be no refund granted one week prior to the start of the program and the PD level 1 training due to material/courseware being ordered, tuition fee may increase without prior notice. For the PD Level 1, participants must attend all 3 days to be eligible to write the PD Certification exam on the 3rd day.

Courses can be taken individually or as part of the Certificate program. The program follows the Canadian Standards and Guidelines for Career Development Practitioners. Successful completion of the course(s) with a minimum C+ grade is required for a certificate.

Personality Dimensions Level 1 Training
The Personality Dimensions® Level 1 Training will develop an in-depth understanding of personality temperament theory. Learners will gain understanding of the impact of personality on communication, work performance, career decisions and life balance. Students will gain enhanced awareness of their own facilitating style and learn new ways to motivate the strengths in others. This workshop leads to a Certification in Personality Dimensions Level 1 Trainer. Must attend all 3 days to be eligible to write the final open book Certification exam on the third day. Tuition fee for the training subject to an increase without prior notice.
Method of Delivery: Lectures; structural experiences, group work, Powerpoint presentations, discussions.
Facilitator Profile
Sandy McLeod, MA, is a qualified Level II Personality Dimensions and True Colors trainer. She has certified Level 1 trainers for 10+ years and uses this tool in teambuilding workshops as well as in career planning and employment counselling workshops. Sandy has over 20 years of combined experience in Career/Employement Facilitation, Child and Youth Care Counselling, and Life Skills Counselling and is the owner of Shifting Views Career and Life Coaching.
