International Applicant Requirements
Academic Requirements
BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent); Or Successful completion of one full academic year OR successful completion of a minimum of 24 university credits at a recognized post-secondary institution.
Note: Students who plan to continue with pursuing CPA designation will require a 4-year accredited bachelor's degree from a recognized university or college. Please refer to Chartered Professional Accountants of BC for more information.
English Proficiency
English is the language of instruction at Langara College. You are required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language prior to admission to the Advanced Accounting program. You may demonstrate English language proficiency by one of the following:
- Successful completion of English First Peoples 12, English Studies 12, or Literary Studies 12 (or equivalent)
- Successful completion of a post-secondary English or Communications course for which Langara College awards transfer credit
- A minimum “S” grade in Langara ENGL 1107 or 1110; Or a minimum “C” grade in ENGL 1120
- International Baccalaureate (IB) ENGL A (HL or SL) 2; Or IB ENGL LIT & PERFORM (SL) 2
- Advanced Placement (AP) ENGL LIT & COMP 2; Or AP ENGL LANG & COMP 2
- A minimum “C” grade in GCSE O-Level English or GCSE English Language B
- Successful completion of LEAP Level 8 (or equivalent) (see note a)
- Language Proficiency Index (LPI) 4 with essay 24 (see note a)
- IELTS Academic Overall 6.5 with no bands less than 6.0 (see note a)
- Duolingo English Test 110 (see note b)
- TOEFL (IBT) Overall: 80, Writing: 20, Reading: 20, Listening: 18, Speaking:18 (see note a)
- CAEL Overall 60, Essay: 60 (see note a)
- If you have completed at least four years of full-time secondary or post-secondary study in English, you may have met the English Language requirements. For a list of approved countries, refer to English Language Countries.

- Assessment test scores are valid for two years from the date they were taken.
- Duolingo test scores must be sent directly to Langara College (view submission instructions).
Additional Requirements
Program Admission Questions
Applicants must complete the Program Admission Questions. Answer each question completely & professionally in paragraph format (no bullets), and all sub-sections of each question. Limit your answers to a maximum of 5 pages.
FORMAT: 1.5 line spacing, 2.54cm (1”) margins around, 12-point font. Include your name in a header on each page, and list all questions and sub-sections before your answers.
Save your file as “LAST NAME, FIRST NAME – Advanced Accounting Admission Questions”.
Submit your responses in a PDF or Word document to csaccounting@langara.ca or upload to your applicant portal.
Application Process

For international applicants seeking full-time study:
1. Submit a Continuing Studies Online Application:
- Pay your application fee by Visa or MasterCard during the online application process
- Upload all relevant supporting documents regarding during the online application process. Supporting documents can also be submitted later in the Continuing Studies Applicant Portal. Access to the portal will be granted by email after your application is received.
Incomplete applications packages will not be reviewed. Applications will be reviewed after all supporting documents are received.

All scanned documents must be PDF format, in colour, show the entire page, and include both sides (front and back, even if blank) of all pages. Original documents may be requested at any time. Students who fail to provide official documents as requested may have their application canceled, and/or be blocked from further registration.
2. You will receive an Offer of Admission (OOA) by email after your application is approved and all documents have been verified. Please allow approximately 10 business days for processing of your application.
3. After receiving your OOA, you will need to pay $5,035 ($5,000 commitment fee plus $35 International Education Development Fund fee upon acceptance to the program. The $5,000 commitment fee will be used towards your first semester tuition.
Note: Tuition fees are non-refundable and non-transferable for the first semester.
4. The Letter of Acceptance (LOA) will be issued to you after $5,035 has been received.
5. Apply for a Study Permit at the nearest Canadian embassy or visa office (if applying from overseas).
6. Report to Langara for your first day of class.

Note: Seats are limited in each intake, and complete applications are processed on a first come, first serve basis. Submit your applications early to guarantee a spot in the program.
