Mixing

Mixing is almost as much an art form as performing. Students will hone their skills in mixing the levels, pan and effects to the various tracks of a song. This course will cover sonic space, EQ and balance. Students will learn how to use EQ to ensure that compositions do not become muddy, and to make sure that the various tracks are clearly audible. Students will mix both original projects as well as remixing existing work. Mixing will be explored from both stereo and surround sound. Students will also be back in a commercial recording studio to learn about working on the larger Neve Desks for mixing.Learning Outcomes:- Balance multiple tracks through levels, pan and EQ- Demonstrate the use of send and insert effects- Create sonic space amongst multiple tracks- Remix and reinterpret existing scores- Demonstrate the use of a studio desks
