Description
Sound design is a major aspect of music production. Students will learn about the various types of synthesizers and sampler on the market such as subtractive, additive, FM, AM and granular synthesis. Sampling and resynthesis will also be explored in-depth. Students will learn how to use oscillators, filters, envelopes, modulators and arpeggiators to shape and sculpt custom sounds on a synthesizer.Learning Outcomes:- Understand the difference between a variety of synthesizers- Apply oscillators, filters and envelopes to a synthesized sound- Construct a synthesizer using Reaktor 5- Use audio samples to create resynthesized sounds
